1
Tablespoon of Borax (a powder found in grocery stores)
(1)
Make a solution containing half glue and half water
(If
you want to get really messy add some food colouring but BEWARE
your hands may stain)
Science
slime is a polymer. The borax solution you added acts as a
“connector” or a cross-linking agent for the
glue molecules. This means the smaller glue molecules join up with the
borax molecules to form much larger molecules called polymers. The links
between these molecules give the slime properties of both liquid and
solid molecules and allow it to be stretchy and slimy.
